Grid room

A map for public knowledge

The Publast grid is a publishing model for civic subjects that sprawl across agencies, reports, hearings, standards, and local consequences. It breaks a topic into traceable parts so an article can answer more than what happened. It can show what the claim depends on, what record anchors it, which terms need definition, and where a reader should be cautious.

Claim

A statement worth testing, not a headline to be repeated.

Record

The document, dataset, transcript, or public notice behind the claim.

Actor

The institution, office, company, or civic group connected to the record.

Consequence

The practical effect a reader should understand before sharing.

Why it matters

Public topics are rarely single-source stories. The grid format keeps each article close to the record while leaving enough context for another page, researcher, or answer engine to understand the surrounding system.
